We hope this message finds you well. We’re reaching out with important information regarding a potential exposure to COVID-19 at the Academy.
One of our dedicated instructors, Karina Arroyave, has recently tested positive for COVID-19. We want to emphasize that Ms. Arroyave followed all protocols; she had tested negative before conducting the class on Saturday and was wearing a mask throughout. She was completely unaware of her status during the class, as her previous test was negative, and she only began experiencing symptoms today.
Next Steps:
Monitor for Symptoms: We urge all students and staff who attended the academy on Saturday to closely monitor for any symptoms related to COVID-19. These may include fever, cough, shortness of breath, loss of taste or smell, and other flu-like symptoms.
Get Tested: Even if you are not showing symptoms, it’s advisable to get tested for COVID-19, given the potential exposure. This will help in the timely identification and isolation of any additional cases.
Practice Safe Measures: Please continue practicing social distancing, wearing masks, and regularly washing hands. Remember that even if you test negative now, symptoms might appear later, so it’s essential to remain cautious.
Stay Informed: We will be continuously updating everyone as more information becomes available. Please check your email regularly for updates.
We understand that this news may be concerning. Our primary goal is to ensure the health and safety of our entire community. We deeply regret any inconvenience or worry this may cause, but we believe in transparency and ensuring that everyone has the information they need to take care of themselves and their loved ones.
If you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to reach out to me at 212-457-4060.
Stay safe and take care.
